This month is special because it’s a Leap Year meaning we got an extra day in the month and woman could propose to men. With this in mind, I rounded up 10 of the best places to propose in London. It has also been pretty hectic for me with lots of fun activities going on although I was battling a cold.

CULTURE VULTURE
There are some really great London art events at the moment including Vogue 100 at the National Portrait Gallery. We also visited historic Hampton Court Palace, and were surprised to see so many “living exhibits”, actors who really bring the story of the palace to life.

One of my recent beauty discoveries is Skinade™, a drink designed to boost collagen levels and hydration. Working on the basis that the best skincare starts from within and created by top UK scientists, it contains essential micronutrients and high-grade collagen. The drink itself has a pleasant peachy taste with no artificial colouring or flavours and less than 35 calories. One of the things that I liked best about it was its packaging in two different sizes, bottles for everyday use and a smaller sachet version perfect for travelling. I used it throughout my recent trip to Switzerland and can already see an improvement in my skin with increased radiance and smoothness. It’s also said to reduce wrinkles and fine lines, whilst also strengthening hair and nails.

Later in the month, I enjoyed a brilliant British Blow Dry at Edward James, an award winning salon in Putney, and attended a fun launch of the new Jaguar Pace fragrance at the London Edition. If you’re like me, you eat more in the colder months so it was time to up my exercise to compensate! The Library in Notting Hill is probably the nicest gym that I’ve ever come across – what with all the books and unique decor, it hardly feels like one. Stay tuned for my upcoming review.

TRAVEL TALES
We recently headed to Switzerland and stunning Lugano in Swiss Italy was our first port of call to see family. We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Splendide Royal in Lugano, as well as in Lucerne and Zurich. Closer to home, I took a stroll around Spitalfields market and shared details of our visit to Monaco’s only micro brewery, as well as the magnificent Monastero Santa Rosa hotel located in a former convent on the Amalfi Coast. Cyprus is a country with a fascinating history and I wrote about my impressions of Cyprus past and present, with suggestions of what to see and do there. Finally, Jess from Used York City came up with some brilliant insider tips for New York whilst over on her site, I shared my London city guide.

WINING AND DINING
For Valentine’s Day, as we were struck down with colds, we didn’t get to a restaurant however we did savour these cute Pierre Marcolini heart shaped chocolates.

Earlier in the month, I attended the lauch of the World’s best young chef competition. It’s a great initiative and fingers crossed for another British winner this year! And last night I enjoyed a brilliant cookery demonstration by Daniel Galmiche, head chef of renowned hotel The Vineyard in Berkshire. Guinea fowl, truffle, leeks and pancetta is a winning combination.

COMING SOON IN MARCH
Follow our adventures as we head to Kitzbühel – the world’s best ski area as voted by ‘Skiresort.de’. We’ll even be trying out Segway in the snow ;-). We’ll also be visiting Switzerland again but this time, the French speaking town of Montreux, famed for its lake and jazz festival. Last but not least we’ll explore one of Britain’s most important ornamental gardens, Compton Acres in Dorset.
